10 European cities you must visit

Ni antara tempat yg direkemen oleh yahoo. kami telah sampai ke 3 tempat dibawah, munich, cork, edinburgh…so the rest menyusul kalau ada duit 🙂

Forget about Paris, Rome and Amsterdam – here are ten European cities you really should visit.

Antwerp, Belgium
Antwerp has seen a magnificent transformation in the past 50 years, from wounded and bombed-out war victim, to the strikingly confident and beautiful city of today. Popular among fashion moguls and art-lovers, Antwerp’s cobbled-lane centre is crammed full of antiques shops, designer boutiques and exclusive chocolate outlets where spending-money can be happily squandered.

Valencia, Spain
Less barmy than Barcelona and more laid-back than Madrid, Valencia is Spain’s understated, orange-grove-sprinkled alternative to a sun-and-culture city break. The city’s historic old town is a marvellously preserved, car-free amalgam of Baroque, Gothic and Modernista architecture, full of small alleys, honey-coloured stone and shady spots to relax in. Malvarrosa beach is another pleasant surprise, a wide expanse of white sand that’s cleaner, bigger and calmer than Barcelona’s man-made shoreline.

Munich, Germany
Munich embraces just about every German cliché in the book. Old Bavarians in Lederhosen and shaving-brush hats sing in rustic beerhalls, horsing a hulking great Mass of Hacker-Pschorr and wielding a Weisswurst topped and tailed with mustard. It’s an oompah image unchanged since the long reign of the Wittelsbachs through most of the last millennium. But away from cliché and history, today’s Bavarian capital is dynamic, filled with modern museums, world-class art collections, high-end shopping and adventurous restaurants.

Rotterdam, Holland
Long-ignored by Holland’s hashish-loving holidayers, this multicultural city is fast becoming recognised as an artist’s haven and an architectural inspiration. Bombed to oblivion during World War II, the city was left in the hands of wacky architects to be pieced back together again. The result is a futuristic skyline that includes some of Europe’s most innovative, ingenious and ultramodern designs. To see it all, climb to the top of the Euromast tower and enjoy a full view of the city.
– Book a flight

St Petersburg, Russia
Now known as ‘Russia’s window to the West’, Peter the Great’s imperial capital is also Russia’s most elegant and European city. Crammed with tsarist palaces, wonderful museums, neoclassical architecture, rock stars, artists and war veterans, this is a city steeped in history, literature, high culture and dark underground music. The Hermitage is Russia’s answer to the Louvre, a must-see collection of art treasures housed in the magnificent Winter Palace that includes early Picassos and a room full of Rembrandts.
– Book a flight

Edinburgh, Scotland
The ‘Athens of the North’ is a place of high culture, reincarnated parliaments and the world’s most extravagant arts festival. Yet Edinburgh is also one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, draped across a series of rocky hills overlooking the sea. In this unique town, cityscape and landscape are one and the same, as cliffs overshadow monuments, castles sit on dormant volcanoes and buildings spread out over grassy hills. From the towering turrets of the sloping historic centre to the tatty souvenir shops of Royal Mile and the impressive boutiques of the Georgian New Town, the city offers a compact array of contrasts that can all be explored by foot.
– Book a flight

Gothenburg, Sweden
With barely half a million inhabitants, Gothenburg is doing remarkably well at masquerading as a metropolis. It has no fewer than 25 theatres, 18 museums, four Michelin-starred restaurants and a steady stream of tourists. The No.1 tourist attraction, Liseberg amusement park, draws over three million visitors each year. Add to that a reputation as the gastronomic capital of Sweden, and ‘stuck-up Stockholm’ (as Gothenburgers refer to the actual capital) has reason to be worried.
– Book a flight

Lyon, France
Dirty, sprawling, fast, sexy Lyon is like Paris waking up after a hard weekend. It has its beautiful parts – what better place to build a city than at the confluence of two of France’s most graceful rivers, the Rhône and the Saône – and its history stretches back to Roman times, but France’s second city is best loved for the here and now: for food, fashion and culture. In addition to its Renaissance architecture, Lyon has a thriving arts scene, a fine opera house, a slew of museums and monuments and some of the country’s true gourmet tables.
– Book a flight

Cork, Ireland
‘The only good thing to come out of Dublin is the road to Cork’, is an apparently popular saying among the proud dwellers of Ireland’s former ‘rebel city’. Sitting on the River Lee, this buzzing town has a burgeoning arts, culture and restaurant scene to rival the country’s capital. In truth, the city is an invigorating mixture of cramped 17th-century alleyways, snug old pubs, top cuisine and modern architectural masterpieces such as the Lewis Glucksman Gallery and the Cork Opera House.
– Book a flight

Thessaloniki, Greece
This seafront metropolis, sheltered in a tight nook of the Aegean Sea, offers Roman remains, Byzantine glories, Ottoman alleys and a culinary tradition that makes Athens look like the backwater. Expect a buzzing atmosphere: the waterfront is lined with cafés, the walled old town (and former Turkish quarter) is weaved with narrow streets and traditional tavernas and the city’s landmark, the enormous white Roman rotunda, is thronged with university students.

Kisah orang orang soleh ke 2.

Kisah orangorang soleh ke 2.

2.Khalifah Abu Ja’far bin Mansur telah bertanya kepada anak Umar bin Abdul Aziz “Berapakah banyak wang simpanan Umar ketika beliau mula-mula memegang jawatan khalifah?”

Anaknya menjawab “40 ribu dinar (wang emas).”

Abu Ja’far bertanya lagi “Berapa pula ketika beliau wafat?”

Anaknya menjawab “ 4 ratus dinar, kalau dia panjang umur lagi pastilah semakin berkurangan.”

Firman Allah swt:

sungai lembing

sg lembing

umurnya mencecah 100 tahun,wajahnya cukup tua,kedutnya seribu,

kami khusyuk mendengar ceritanya,

dia bercerita dapurnya sudah lama tidak berasap,

kami bertanya mengapa,

dia berkata, isterinya sudah lama meninggal dunia, dia sudah kunci pintu dapur,

dia tidak mahu lagi masuk kesana,

kami bertanya lagi kenapa,

disana isterinya menghidang,

disana isterinya bertanak,

disana isterinya menyuap,

sekarang tinggal dia sebatang kara bertemankan basikal tua,

dia makan dikedai setiap hari, orang kampung sudah kenal,

adakalanya makan percuma sahaja,

orang lama selalu dihormati,

permata hatiku

alhamdulillah sudah hampir 6 bulan sejak dilahirkan

jari jemari halusnya adakala menyentuh hati

rambut yang halus adakala dibelai lembut

inilah wajah wajah syurga

amanah ini akan dijaga dgn ayat ayatmu

wahai tuhanku

amanah ini akan dibelai dgn segala suruhanmu

wahai tuhanku

akanku cuba memimpin mereka kesyurga mu

wahai tuhanku

kami ingin kekal bersama disana

apapun

kami sebagai ibu dan bapa

yg akan menjadikan mereka

sbg hamba hamba mu yg taat kpd mu

wahai tuhanku

HIKMAH MENINGGALKAN CAKAP BOHONG

“Berani engkau berbuat jahat. Apakah jawapan kamu nanti apabila ditanya oleh Rasulullah. Sanggupkah engkau berbohong kepadanya” bisik hati kecil. Setiap kali dia berniat hendak berbuat jahat, maka dia teringat segala pesan Rasulullah S.A.W. dan setiap kali pulalah hatinya berkata :

life in glasgow

1- what’s the cost of living like in Glasgow

living cost ni agak subjektif, katakanlah secara kasar sbg student postgrad yg diletakkan pendapatan dlm £1500.

£1500

–   550 average paling mahal yg selalu disewa oleh student berfamily, 2-3 bilik

–   100 eletrik & gas -paling mahal, ours is £60-50 average, air free di scotland

–   250 utk makanan isi rumah, we all anak 4, 2 dewasa cukup sbulan

–  100 utk minyak, actually kat sini we all prefer public transport ,kete utk ke carboot, park ujung minggu dsb
2- basic monthly expenditure

secara umum maximum belanja macam kami adalah dlm £1000 (sewamakan, minyak kete etc),so bergantung jg, we all bukan jenis outing ke shopping mall.lagipun life kat sini bukan mcm msia slalu outing, makan kat luar, beli baju kat mall. So kalau kerja lagi lah best , especially org yg buat keje cleaning memang joli sakan la.

kat sini we all shopping kat carboot sj, nak barang barang lain bleh try ebay, amazon much cheaper byk option
3- school

budak budak start skolah dari umur 5thn, primary 1 sampai primary 7. ada skolah blah england umur 3 thn dah start masuk skolah tak semua skolah, kene cek balik. Kat glasgow rasanya takde. Tiada Yuran dsb. Bawa anak register dgn surat branak (translated to english/yg dah version english no prob). skolah dari jam 9-3ptg.

Anak pergi skolah kalau rumah melebihi 1.6km, dapat free bus skolah. Bergtg pada council, council jaga semua kebajikan utk sekolah. Makanan digalakkan bekal utk anak2 dlm pack lunch/lunch box, walaupun ada skolah sediakan makanan halal sbb glasgow ramai pakistan.

skolah free, nasib baik meals pun free, uniform sj kene beli, the rest skolah bagi. Skolah ada carer utk budak2 bila time rehat  means takkan dibiarkan bersama rakan tanpa pemerhatian dari mana2 carer. Balik skolah dari drj 1- 3 cikgu akan tunggu kita amik anak kita, dia takkan biarkan balik sendiri, cikgu akan pastikan anak anak kita sampai ke tangan kita dulu baru dilepaskan.
4- health

Health dibawah NHS, as student with family, kita entitle utk dptkan HC certificate. Kalau dapat hc3 memang mantap, free glasses, free dental care, free semua nhs, ubat etc.

Dia bergantung pada pendapatan kita ,kami skang hc2-ubat kene bayar 3 pound max kalo tak silap.

Budak2 free NHS tak kira siapa. Kalau preggy woman, free deliver, free spjgn mengandung, free hingga umur anak 1 thn utk semua service nhs. Bleh refer kisah NHS dan amir yusuf disini

Any help you are entitled to is extended to your partner, if you have one.

How claims are worked out

Help is based on a comparison between your weekly income and assessed requirementsat the time the claim is made (or the date the charge was paid if a refund is claimed).

Entitlement broadly follows Income Support rules to decide how much, if anything, you have to pay towards your health costs.  The scheme also allows us to include your council tax and housing costs in the assessment.  This means you can get help with your health costs even if your income is too high for Income Support.

What happens after you claim

You will qualify for a full help HC2 certificate (which includes free NHS prescriptions), if your income is less than or equal to your requirements, or your income is greater than your requirements by no more than half the current English prescription charge.

You will qualify for a limited help HC3 certificate if your income is greater than your requirements by more than half the current English prescription charge. The HC3 certificate which shows how much you have to pay towards your health costs,

Certificates are usually valid for periods of between 6 months to 5 years, depending on your circumstances.

If you have a query

If you have a query about your certificate, call our Customer Contact team on 0845 850 1166.  We will answer your query straight away if we can, or arrange for a call back at a time that suits you.

Alternatively, complete our Low Income Scheme Enquiry Form (see related links).

5- accomodation

rumah terdiri dari flat dan house. Flat paling tinggi sampai 20 tingkat.

6- ideal salary range to survive there as a family of 6

level professional mcm lecturer, range dlm £24000 + per year tapi rasanya gaji bila ditolak tax, dlm £1800 pmonth. So kami anak 4 dalam average pun belanja £1000, slebihnya reservela utk emergency dsb.
7- halal food

Jujurnya Glasgow ni kalau pergi ke bandar, dan nak makan benda halal, takkan sampai kebulur, punya banyaknya kedai makanan halal esp. kebab, fast food yg dimiliki pakistan disini. Bleh refer disini. Kat sini kalau di pasaraya macam tesco, asda (yg besar) kita bleh tgk tanda V utk vege. Even makanan yg berbentuk daging pun ada V sbb bahan asasnya vege. Vege cukup kuat society disini. Cuma setengah benda kene pastikan tiada wine etc.

Info tambahan:

Ibu tak bleh pegang anak masa kete tgh drive, kalau nak breast feeding etc, kene stop kat services kalau di motorway.

summer clothes-mana satu nak pakai dulu

So memang penuh satu beg biru Ikea. Aku cakap kat aishah bila masa la kita nak pakai semua ni utk amirah, dia ckp mana yg agak nipis, exposed tu bleh bagi sedara mara kat msia sbb kat sini summer pun kjap so mana yg agak tebal skit leh simpan utk spring, autumn. So ni satu kelebihan komuniti freecycle, takyah kuar duit membeli baju. Kalau tak kisah la,abis2 cari kat carboot, 5 lai sepound
